The Solvents Industry Association recently exhibited and hosted a Sustainability-themed Panel Discussion Session at CHEMUK Expo, held at the National Exhibition Centre (NEC) in Birmingham, UK.
Attended by more than 4,000 delegates and exhibitors over the 2 days, CHEMUK is now firmly established as the national trade show for the UK Chemical Industry.
Speaking after the event, SIA General Secretary Andrew Norman said, ‘CHEMUK Expo was a very successful event for us this year, meeting with many companies handling solvents from manufacturers and distributors to downstream-users. Despite everything that is going on in the world and the difficulties that businesses and individuals are facing at the moment, the event had a feel-good factor that seemed to rub off on everyone’.
The SIA hosted a feature Panel Discussion Session as part of the ‘Sustainability’ stage programme, which included topical and thought-provoking presentations from SIA Members Luke Goldsmith of Coryton Advanced Fuels and Dr. Elske Leenders of Shell Chemicals, both highlighting some of the steps that the industry is taking on the road to net zero.
The SIA would like to thank Luke and Elske for representing the Association in the session and for providing an insight into what is being done now to help to achieve our collective net zero goals.
Planning for the next CHEMUK Expo is already underway and takes place on the 10th & 11th May 2023, returning to the NEC in Birmingham. Visitor Registration will open in January.
