Patrick Keogh of Banner Chemicals, part of the 2M Group of Companies, was awarded the 2022 SIA Gerald Soane Award for his outstanding contribution to Health & Safety at the recent Solvents Industry Association Annual Conference at Mottram Hall.
A member of the SIA Technical Committee for just over a year, Patrick has been the SIA’s principal consultant with UK REACH matters, producing the recent SIA UK REACH Summary Guidance and representing the SIA in the UK REACH Shadow Technical Working Group. Patrick has produced summary guidance on changes to legislation relating to chlorinated solvents and also took part in the SIA’s training collaboration with BASF, resulting in Carbon Literacy Certification from the Carbon Literacy Trust.
Upon receiving the Award, Patrick said, ‘Thank you very much for an excellent event and for facilitating my work through the Technical Committee, I’m very grateful and really pleased with the award.’
SIA Chief Executive, Andrew Norman said, ‘Patrick is a very impressive young person and we are very fortunate to have him working with us in the Technical Committee and indeed within the industry.
